R. David Cox

David Cox's important new book examines priestly identity as it has evolved within Anglicanism over the last 150 years. Central to this evolution, is the manner in which - and the extent to which - the once nearly synonymous terms "English" and "Anglican" have diverged over the years. In the process, he delineates an intellectual and social history of modern Anglicanism.

The Rev. Dr. R. David Cox, who is also the author of Bond and Covenant: A Perspective on Holy Matrimony From the Book of Common Prayer (CPI, 1999), has served parishes in Connecticut and Virginia since 1972. He has also served two colleges as Episcopal Chaplain. Recently, he has worked as interim rector to congregations in the Diocese of Virginia.
