• Bible-reading program that transforms lives and the church experience
• Develops the power of a daily disciplined spiritual practice

Despite the fact that Episcopalians are among the best-educated Christian groups in the United States, they also rank among the least biblically literate denominations. The
author maintains “we can do Bible better” and shows why it is absolutely critical to do so.

How can this weakness become a strength and source of spiritual growth for Episcopalians, their churches, and dioceses? As an evangelist for biblical literacy and spiritual nourishment, Zabriskie shows the way forward for the Episcopal Church and the Anglican Communion.

He is also the author of The Bible Challenge: Read the Bible in a Year and lives in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania.

“Marek Zabriskie is the God-Father of “The Bible Challenge,” the summons to read through the Bible in a deliberate way in a year. Here he tells the story of the “Challenge” in a most personal way and shows why this study has evoked his passion alongside his wisdom. He anticipates nothing less than a revitalization of the church through sustained study of the Bible; here he voices this conviction in compelling and empowering ways.”
-Walter Brueggemann
Preeminent Biblical scholar & William Marcellus McPheeters Professor of Old Testament Emeritus, Columbia Theological Seminary

“In the short time since its inception, the Bible Challenge has transformed individuals and congregations throughout The Episcopal Church. This new book by Marek Zabriskie explains why such a transformation is needed, and how it can be possible.”
-The Rev. Canon C.K. Robertson, Ph.D.
Canon to the Presiding Bishop

“As much promise as panacea for biblical illiteracy, Doing the Bible Better promotes daily reading of Scripture as the means to “change the spiritual DNA of a faith community.” The book describes parish experiences and provides reading resources together with global testimonies from those whose lives have been transformed through reading the Bible.”
-Deirdre Good
Academic Dean & Professor of New Testament
The General Theological Seminary
