Church Publishing is here to support you
As congregations, families, and individuals seek to live faithfully in these uncertain times, Church Publishing Incorporated is working to support you. Here are a selection of free resources for devotional use.
Hymns for Streaming
We are pleased to grant permission for performances of hymns found in Hymnal 82, Wonder, Love and Praise, and Lift Every Voice and Sing II that are either listed as in Public Domain or whose copyrights are owned by Church Publishing Incorporated or The Church Pension Fund to be streamed for virtual corporate worship. This permission is limited to congregational use only until August 31, 2021.
Book of Common Prayer
For those who are at home and do not have a copy, we have made an easy-to-navigate PDF version of the Book of Common Prayer available in English and Spanish. We would like to thank our friends at Forward Movement for creating an easy-to-navigate PDF of the English Edition. The Episcopal Church has also provided an additional PDF of the Book of Common Prayer in Spanish with linked shortcuts.
Resources for Adults, Youth, and Children
Lent, Holy Week, and Easter Activity Pack
This activity pack for children and families includes a variety of ideas for Lent, Holy Week, and Easter from some of our favorite faith formation resources. Some are active, some are reflective, and all of them are meant to enrich this season of faith at home.
The Living Diet*
We are bombarded with messages that the secret to health and weight loss can be unlocked with the right product or magic discipline, but we are getting neither thinner nor happier. Drawing on a rich assemblage of personal and collected stories grounded in the teachings of Jesus, The Living Diet invites you to discover the real joy of eating and the true gift of living this bodily existence.
A study guide with questions to guide your next book club conversation or for a study series is also available.
Grammy Award–winning singer-songwriter Marcus Hummon has created a cantata based on narratives from the gospels--and a five-session book that gives some of the musical history of each piece as well as reflections on its theological significance written by Becca Stevens, founder of Thistle Farms and 2016 CNN hero. In conjunction with the CD and MP3, sold separately, it is perfect for personal devotion or an online study group this Lenten season.
“Marcus and Becca have graced us with an exquisite, moving, and singular collection of meditations on the Passion. Deftly twinning prose and song, they usher us into a profound experience and fresh understanding of Jesus’ journey to the cross. It’s a spiritual feast.”
—Ian Morgan Cron, author of Chasing Francis
