The story of the life of Paul, made unfamiliar and new to those versed in it and simply compelling to those learning it for the first time. Picking up from where his highly praised graphic novel Marked left off, Steve Ross' Blinded follows the apostle Paul from persecutor of the early church, to believer and missionary, to his death in Rome.

Theologically sound and with startling imagery, Blinded is a potent and accessible story powerfully told.

Steve Ross began his professional career as a teenager in San Antonio, Texas, selling pictures of angst-ridden, dark and disturbing surrealist art to his friends and teachers. After high school he soon landed a job drawing pictures of dining room tables for a local furniture company, and was surprised when the owner became upset that he was drawing dark and disturbing surrealist furniture for the company's newspaper ads. They parted company. Steve works as a professional illustrator and resides in New York City.

“In this marvelous work … Steve Ross portrays the life and times of Paul, drawing upon modern metaphors and images that hearken back to their ancient analogs and timeless issues and ideas. … Like all great comics and graphic novelists, Steve generates powerful, visceral, imagery that brings the story to life.”—Bill Jemas, former president, Marvel Comics; publisher, Genesis Rejuvenated

Blinded is as bold a work as Marked, consistently and fiercely inventive, but Steve Ross’s determination to grapple with difficult truths is always matched by his compassion. He has made the story of Paul powerfully real—terrifying, playful, and very much alive for our time.”——G. W. Dahlquist, New York Times bestselling author of The Glass Books of the Dream Eaters

“But in his graphic novel, Blinded: The Story of Paul the Apostle (Seabury Books, 2008), writer and illustrator Steve Ross does something entirely different. He lets Paul rant and rave until he administers his own talking cure of sorts.”——PBS’s Religion & Ethics Newsweekly
