Confirmation: Anointed and Sealed with the Spirit is a confirmation program for Catholic parishes.

Use this resource to get adults involved in their preparation for confirmation. Questions will prompt reflection and extend the activities of the sessions. Using a journal helps people take ownership and makes sacramental preparation more individualized. Questions focus on three areas: activities, scripture and symbol. Plenty of blank space invites thoughtful response.

While the primary audience is adult candidates for confirmation, the journal can also be helpful to sponsors, catechists and parents of younger candidates.

Thomas H. Morris is the Director of Continual Development with the Bon Secours Health System. The former executive director of the North American Forum on the Catechumenate, Thom is the author of numerous articles and books on initiation, including The RCIA: Transforming the Church (revised and expanded edition) and Walking Together in Faith: A Workbook for Sponsors of Christian Initiation, both published by Paulist Press. Thom's doctoral work at The Catholic University of America focused on the process of discernment in Christian initiation.

Kathy Coffey is the author of Children and Christian Initiation, Confirmed: Anointed and Sealed with the Spirit, Experiencing God with Your Children, and God in the Moment: Making Every Day a Prayer. Kathy frequently leads retreats and workshops across the country.

"Thom Morris and Kathy Coffey have taken the theological concepts of the initiation sacraments and put them into language that is clear, concise and friendly. The questions are intriguing and the imagery familiar and inviting. This journal is going to find an immediate place in parish confirmation programs as a much-valued tool for adult candidates and their sponsors.” Kathy Hendricks, Parish Life Coordinator, Pax Christi Catholic Church, Highlands Ranch, Colorado
