This recording treats the listener to a musical journey from Palm Sunday through Holy Week into Easter and the Great Fifty Days. From the regal strains of The King's Majesty of "Ride, on! ride on in majesty!" to the incomparable text of "When I survey the wondrous cross" by Isaac Watts and "All glory, laud, and honor" of Palm Sunday the bittersweet themes of the Entry into Jerusalem casts a musical aura in preparation for the downward spiral of the music for the Triduum. The magnificent chorale "O sacred head, sore wounded" contains an organ verse of a poignant setting by Jean Langlais. Fully fifteen tracks are dedicated to the unbridled joy of Easter and the season it initiates. Don't miss Peter Hallock's wonderful setting of "This is the feast of victory" and the 20th century "Look there!the Christ, our Brother comes" set by the foremost American composer, William Albright.

The featured singers are the six choral ensembles of St. Mark's Cathedral in Seattle which engage children, youth, adults, amateur and professional musicians, as well as the renowned Compline Choir, and a variety of instruments and arrangements.
