Group readings of scripture during the liturgy, long a tradition on Palm Sunday and Good Friday, are becoming a popular and effective recitation method on other Sundays and Holy Days throughout the church year. Lections spoken by more than one voice can enhance the proclamation of the Word as listeners see and hear new features and make fresh discoveries upon what they had assumed to be familiar scriptural terrain.

This product -- formerly a searchable CD-ROM and now re-issued as a downloadable file -- is a collection of over one hundred readings drawn from eighty liturgical dates in the three years of the Episcopal (Book of Common Prayer) Lectionary and the Revised Common Lectionary, Fred C. Elwood has taken texts from both the Old and New Testaments in the New Revised Standard Version and arranged them in script form with sensitivity and subtlety.

The downloadable .zip file includes PDF files of all texts in completely designed pages ready to print, together with complete calendar and scriptural indexes for Years A, B, and C, and major Holy Days.

Fred C. Elwood is rector of St. James' Episcopal Church in Birmingham, Michigan. A graduate of the University of California and General Theological Seminary, he has also served parishes in California, Idaho, Washington, and New York City.
