The Way of Love
Welcome to the season of incarnation and light. It is our prayer that the Child of Light be born again in all of us, for all of us, through all of us, for the sake of the world.
An incarnational faith that shines forth into the world takes many forms. Therese Taylor-Stinson and the contributors to Ain't Gonna Let Nobody Turn Me Around offer individuals and small groups one lens through which to view that call. Members of the Spiritual Directors of Color Network (a part of Spiritual Directors International) make direct connections between spirituality and justice, particularly around issues of racism and "othering."
Similarly, Dr. Catherine Meek's popular volume Living into the Dream of God: Dismantling Racism in America, has been used in dioceses and parishes across the Episcopal Church. With reflection/study questions included for each chapter, the book is an ideal entry point to this painful and vitally significant conversation.
"We are assured, though, that our entry into the larger life is just like Christ's, the firstborn of the new creation, of whom we are all little brothers and sisters. Life with Christ in eternity is a life that is not rule by the linearity of our lives, a life that knows none of our sad limits." How can you prepare to receive Christ in a new way this year?
