A forty-day spiritual journey of grief, healing, and faith grounded in one pilgrim’s journey on the Camino de Santiago.

40 Days and Nights on the Camino de Santiago is a spiritual travelogue and devotional inspired by a 500-mile trek across northern Spain on the Camino de Santiago. Blending travel entries, scripture, and theological reflection, this unique guide invites readers into a rhythm of prayer, vulnerability, and presence. Each day’s entry explores a distinct moment on the trail—from solitude and struggle to grace and companionship—drawing out the deeper movements of the Christian life: separation, purgation, dying to self, and resurrection. A field guide that pairs a physical journey with spiritual exploration, it’s designed for readers who are seeking, struggling, discerning, hoping, healing, or just wandering.

Kevin Wittmayer is an Episcopal priest and spiritual pilgrim with over three decades of ministry experience. He is passionate about the power of pilgrimage having walked the Camino de Santiago, as well as pilgrimages to Jerusalem, Rome, Canterbury, and Mount Athos. He lives in Longview, Texas.
